GRAND PRIX – by Orange

SIMONE BÄR (DE)
Straight after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990 Simone Bär founded the “CastingStudio” Her longtime experience as an assistant director was only one of the reasons she decided to take up casting professionally.
The extensive database Simone Bär set up allows fast and intensive research for all German and many European actors.
In 2002 Simone Bär received the “German Casting Award) at the Cologne Conference.
She has worked, among others, on such acclaimed films as WAR HORSE, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, THE WHITE RIBBON, THE LIFE OF OTHERS or GOOD BYE LENIN!

YUN SU CHONG (KR)
After graduating in foreign languages (Spanish) at the University of Hankuk, Yun Su Chong studied media science and film production. In 2002, his first feature film YESTERDAY was acclaimed in Deauville, Tokyo and Hamburg, among others. BEST CHEF (2007), LOVE NOW (2007), MY WIFE GOT MARRIED (2008) or LOVE IN BETWEEN (2010) have made Yun So Chong a prominent director in South Korea.

JÉRÔME CORNUAU (FR)
Director, producer and scriptwriter Jerôme Cornuau began his career by making music videos for French singers Johnny Hallyday, Eddy Mitchell, Laurent Voulzy, Maurane… In 1997, he directed BOUGE and FOLLE D’ELLE but then went to work for television. In 2004, he came back to cinema with DISSONANCES and the box office success LES BRIGADES DU TIGRE (2006). In 2012, he directed Michaël Young in the Luxembourgish coproduction LA TRAVERSEE, before shooting “Rebecca Gomez” for television..

POL  CRUCHTEN (LU)
After graduating at the ESEC film school in Paris, Pol Cruchten directed his first feature film, HOCHZÄITSNUECHT,in 1992. It was the first Luxembourgish film to be presented at the Cannes Film Festival (in the “Un Certain Regard” section). BLACK DJU (1997) happened to be actor Philippe Léotard’s last film and was shown in more than 20 festivals. Cruchten then took four years to make his dream come true: to direct a film in the United States with Tarak Ben Ammar as a producer. In 2005, he adapted PERL ODER PICA from Luxembourgish writer Jhemp Hoscheit’s novel. More recently he has produced UNIVERSALOVE (Thomas Woschitz), DUST (Max Jacoby) or SWEETHEART COME (Jacques Molitor).

SAM GARBARSKI (BE)
Sam Garbarski is the founder of the Garbarski Euro RSCG agency and has directed more than 50 ads of which several received awards. In 1997, he began making short films: LA DINDE as well as LA VIE, LA MORT, LE FOOT or JOYEUX NOEL RACHID. In 2003, his first feature film THE RASHEVSKI TANGO was shown in more than 20 festivals and brought him awards such as the Jerusalem Municipality Prize and the Jewish Experience Award for Best Feature Film at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2004) but also the Prix Jean Carmet for Tania Garbarski and Rudi Rosenberg. In 2007, IRINA PALM, starring Marianne Faithfull was a huge success. Garbarski then directed A DISTANT NEIGHBOURHOOD in 2009 and MY FRIEND VIJAY in 2012, all coproduced by Luxembourg’s Samsa Film.
